In the early months of 2013, the Lord began working on Dustin and Katie Spitler's hearts about planting a church. Through much prayer and counsel from their pastor, Randy Miller, God directed the Spitlers to plant a church in the Terre Haute area. Vision Baptist Church is a 4th generation church plant directly out of Northland Baptist Church in Flagstaff, Arizona. In April of 2014, the Spitlers came to Terre Haute in search of a church meeting place and prospective members. God led Vision Baptist Church to start on June 8th, 2014 in Riley, IN, at the Odd Fellows Lodge building. Our first service started with 25 people.


August 2, 2015, Vision Baptist Church chartered from her sending church and became a independent body of believers. Pastor Randy Miller preached that day, and the church took on 11 charter members.


As the church began to grow and save money, they were able to purchase the building they had rented from the Odd Fellows on November 12, 2021. The church has since continued to grow, becoming a pillar of support for the local community.
